How to Use The AirHead

Follow these simple steps to achieve a salon-quality blow-dry at home

1

Rough dry your hair

Start with towel-dried hair and apply a heat protectant to reduce heat damage. Using the hairdryer attachment and rotating the dryer into its 'L'-shaped position, rough-dry your hair until it's around 80% dry. This removes excess moisture and preps the hair for shaping.

2

Prep your hair

Gently comb through to remove any knots so each section styles smoothly. Apply a styling mousse or root-lifting spray to get the best from your blow-dry.

3

Section your hair

Divide your hair into clean, manageable sections. Each section should be no wider than the roller you're using — this ensures even heat and consistent results.

4

Dry and style

Attach the roller to the AirHead and turn it on. Starting at the roots, work through the section toward the ends, using the bristles to lift and smooth the hair as you go. Creating tension is vital for smoothness and lift, so work as neatly as possible to reduce frizz and ensure a flawless finish. Once the section is fully dry, turn off the dryer and brush from root to end so the hair is smooth and tangle-free. Wrap the hair around the roller, rolling upward toward the scalp and keeping tension even. You can do this by removing the roller first, or by leaving it attached to the dryer if you'd like a final blast of heat before detaching. Secure the roller in place with a PinHead U-shaped clip. Roll as neatly as possible and take the roller all the way up to the root — a messy roller will leave your hair frizzy and kinked.

5

Set your style

Leave the rollers to cool and set for at least 20 minutes. The longer they cool, the longer your style will last. For extra hold, lightly spray hairspray after removing the rollers.

6

Remove the rollers

Gently remove each roller without pulling or tugging — this prevents frizz and helps the shape hold. If a roller feels stuck or tangled, gently unroll it. Don't pull at the hair, as this will make it worse.

Note: due to the bristles, it's normal to get some indentations in the hair. These will settle and disappear.
7

Finish styling

Use your fingers to separate the curls for a natural, effortless finish. For softer waves, lightly comb through with a wide-tooth comb.
