The kinks will appear if your hair is slightly wet when you roll up the barrel. Your hair must be 100% dry before you secure the barrel in place. More importantly if your hair is damp (especially at the root) when you roll up the barrel the blowdry will drop.

To achieve smooth, easy results you need to work in neat manageable sections. The section of hair should be no wider than the width of the barrel you are using. Before rolling your hair around the roller, ensure you have turned the dryer off and brush the section from root to tip so it is smooth. Roll the hair and then turn the hairdryer on for one last blast of hot air before detaching the roller and allowing it to cool. When removing the barrel roll it out slowly - don’t tug or pull. This will ensure no tangles.

The best way to maintain your blowdry is to make sure your hair is fully dry before you roll up the barrel, and leave it to fully cool before you remove. If your hair naturally drops quite quickly, you can use products such as a holding serum, volumising mousse or setting spray.

Ensure you start your blowdry with a good heat protection serum and/or soothing cream. When you start your blowdry make sure you brush each section from root to tip before rolling it up to cool. 

This could be down to a number of reasons. It could be because you are turning the heat up too high. When you use a higher heat on the hair, the cuticle can slam shut and flatten so much that it won’t hold. A super-flat cuticle works well when you want shiny, sleek strands, but not so much when you want texture. Using a lower temperature may help depending on your hair type. In saying that, if your wave/volume drops out quickly, you probably need to dial up the heat. This really is trial and error. Pre and post styling products suitable for your hair type are important too. 

It is very important to always use a heat protectant on your hair prior to styling. On freshly dyed hair, heat can change or alter the tone of the colour. It is also important to test heat on a small section of your hair before using the AirHead on your entire head. We also suggest using the lowest heat setting to start.  

The AirHead is suitable for hair of any thickness, however, it may not work on very curly hair. We have tutorials for short and long hair on our social media and throughout our website. Hair should be at least ear length and the correct roller size used.
